Thoughts, April 28 2026

“You’re my best friend.” she repeated, for the hundredth time if for the second. “You’ve come so far in two years, but there’s still so far to go. I just wish you didn’t have to go so far in that direction, so far from here.”

She couldn’t even look at them. She stared at the ground. She felt certain that if she looked up at them now, she’d start to cry. 

This still puzzled her greatly. It used to be impossible to cry, most days, she thought. How did I end up here?
