A Daydream Aggressive

Stormy skies pound down onto dark shorelines
Anger whips branches and brambles to and fro
Thunder and lighting tear the sky into pieces
Echoing a desperate rage
Found in any lifetime of faulty connections
Dark clouds oppressive with no end in sight
Mix with a melancholy
Only the perpetually lonely can understand

Together they bring her beyond the edge of her woods
To hesitate only momentarily on this cliff
Sleet pelting her face already frozen and slippery
With nowhere else to righteously unleash such fury
But down; down she goes
With a futile roar only birds and insects hear

She screams not in terror, but defiance
Until boulders beat her senseless

Pale skin as clear and smooth as ever
Until sharp rocks cut her open on all sides

The cliffside meets her over and over again
Violent stone unmoving, unmoved
Silent rock wet with rain and blood

The wet sand accepts her with a heavy thud

That’s it

That’s all

Her impotent rage is spent, extinguished
That inferno, snuffed

There’s nothing left

Not even her soft breath

By the time anyone visits here again
The clouds will have long cleared

By the time anyone spots her
The blood on the cliff will have all been washed away
Returned to the earth, to be followed by her flesh
Aided by the maggots now carrying her life forward

By the time what’s left of her is found
Only bones will remain, bleached from long exposure
To the sunlight she could no longer feel
