Shining and Shimmering

The shining days
Like wellsprings of warmth
And of laughter
And like anchors
For stable feet
To run and dance through

The shimmering nights
A sky-palace otherwordly
To float in
Light of feet and heart
Gentle clouds surrounding
To inhale as deeply as possible

Treasures both
Precious and rare
Flow with them
Dance to their rhythm
As long as one can
Remember that these
Are why we wait
These days, these nights
Shining and shimmering,
These are the precious jewels
That stay our trembling arms

This is not peace
But neither is it war
This is a different tension
A different kind of tiring
Joyful, Invigorating
Raising us
Coming and going as it wills
Always greeted with open arms
Welcome while it’s here
Greatly missed with its passing
