I don’t believe that budō can exist in its true form in a vacuum.
Solo budō is, to my thinking at this time, a completely nonsensical concept. Solo practice sessions have their place — it can be helpful, and sometimes necessary for various reasons or under certain situations that cannot be controlled — but on the whole, budō is vapid and ephemeral without other people. Consider: what practical use does the last human on earth have for it? If only for personal comfort and/or fitness, surely there are other ways to self-soothe or self-improve or self-serve that are better suited to isolated existence?
