Stanzas run the other way
Is there nothing left?
Beg gracious pardons,
put yourself first for once and
go before them all
Wake sleep wake again
Room for one more white helper
Smooth edge jagged edge

So much love given:
surely most will
find its way back home
Love is infinite:
it knows only the limits
our fear imposes

(I see how much love some others generate and share. I wish they’ll always see as much as possible come back to them.)
Shouldn’t be surprised
Uninterrupted sleep tonight
Is too much to ask
2 a.m.
By tether unfrayed
this stalwart connection lives
still, on and on, still!
Sleep feels far tonight
I owe such apologies
But can’t find the words
This day is ending:
Everything is in its place
And you’re all still here
~ 11:00 p.m.
Doubts whisper cruelties
as if my time is borrowed
and soon overdue
