I'm a middle-aged nobody breathing one day at a time in Ontario, Canada.
This tiny corner of the Internet is an outlet for unmasking random thoughts and creations surrounding life in general, adventures in budō, and any other topics that come to a ridiculous mind.

Friend departs again
Happily, I see more joy
In second crossing
My friend was sparkling
Yesterday morning as we talked
Over coffee, side by side
One day before he was to set out again
Watching him shimmer
For one simple hour of warm comfort
He gleamed in a way that told me
His world was so very right
That chilly spring morning
…
One hand presenting to the gaze
Tracing careful teases
The other partially concealed
Buried in secrets…
A confidant asked me recently
(Gently, as is their way)
How, when I pick up that tool
I know when I’m finished
Sometimes
No, often
The words come of their own accord
Unsummoned
But still so welcome
I give them a home
A nest to rest in
…
…how much light
Can really be found here
Buried behind heavy doors
Winter’s last cool night
Bright eyes crinkling and shining
Friend’s laughter joyful
Apx. 11:30 p.m.
Whispering engine
Doubts creeping, should not be here
Among melting snow
Apx. 7:15 – 7:30 p.m.
I’ve called on others to analyze me
To evaluate and judge me
To name me as they see fit
Hoping to understand
What they understand
Starlight on puddles
I don’t want to fade away
Among these faint lights
