Anchors in the Sky

Two stars twinkling, twirling
To and fro, near and far
Falling to earth from steel in the clouds
Weaving in and out of each others’ embrace
Coyly, before flying away
Only to return again and again
Still dancing together, ever so cautiously

Until

Anchoring in each others’ arms
They finally burn their brightest again in a brilliant hot haze
Before settling into the cool shimmer of the safest love

This is the path of two stars looking to the horizon
In search of another to hold them close in the same deep sky
