Lesser Poem for Lesser Connections

I don’t really know you,
various sirs, madams, and others;
In fact, if I do not see any of you again quite soon,
your faces and names may be lost
until we meet again for the first time. 

Please rest assured that my day,
for having passed by yours ever so briefly,
was just a little more worth the effort.
