I Need to go Somewhere

My universe in soft blushes and verdant greens
Whispering hope for worth
Validating air exchanged
Caressing energy traded
Oblivious and welcoming

My universe in grays and purples and blacks
Ridden with vermin tunnels
Crawling with rats
Who love their babies too
Innocent of their own disease

Neither are quite home
Shifting as day and night
Nigh-inescapable
But for one vaguely certain end

I need to go somewhere
I can’t stay here
(I’m stuck)
I need to go
(Help me)
I need to go somewhere
I need to go
