Your Rises and Falls

I’m searching for your innermost colours.

With each one found, I want to splash and lather them all like watercolour onto coarse, textured paper.

With love and admiration in every brush stroke, they’ll dance and sing together into a thing of beauty! Into a star! A star that has seen so much, that has taken in the world, that reflects twinkling light back to those who look in the right direction at the right time.

I’ll cut the sheet oval-shaped — smooth around the edges, like you; but those who seek you far enough to run delicate, sensitive fingertips over the surface will feel all the

bumps

and crevices and dimples and curves that laid your foundation, and they will know the heights and depths of the rises and falls that give your colours life!
