Beating a Hopeful Rhythm

Across time and space
A beloved favourite has come back to me

I may still be broken
Some pieces are still glued at the edges
But today everything is in place again

My words are not fancy
The metaphors are not forthcoming
But this is not the kind of day
When truths need to hide
As my heart is intact again
Being soothed and assured
It still has another safe, cherished place
To beat a hopeful rhythm
