Swallowed on the Ocean Floor

Heartbeats so persistent
Until the day they’re not

Life so steadfast
Until the day it isn’t

Breath so unrelenting
Until the last falls still

One day
It will all settle
On the ocean floor

One day
All I know and feel
All my lessons and failures
Will be swallowed by the black
Until then, here I wait
By the humming and glowing
