Show Me Mine, I’ll Show You Yours

To be seen thoroughly, deeply
Is to be known and truly loved
With unmatched honesty

Don’t turn away in retreat
Denying me the sight of you
Instead, turn to face me squarely
Let me see you clearly

There is nothing more desired, needed, or feared
Than transparency before another
To be not just an other
But instead a thread
Woven so tightly alongside others
In the same tapestry as all living things
There can be no doubt we belong among them
Even if only for the tiniest fraction
Of all that ever was

We can’t see our entire body
Without reflections from other surfaces
Smooth with honesty and illuminated
By the light from our universe surrounding us

Surely our innermost spaces
Are the same

So I’ll do my best
To show you yours
And I’ll be forever grateful
If you show me mine
